ED-RED GOALS
  1. To monitor all legislative activities related to matters of education, particularily those that affect member districts.
  2. To communicate information about legislative activities and ED-RED Council issues and actions to all ED-RED members.
  3. To provide members of the legislature and the Governor's office with ED-RED information, positions, and opinions on legislative proposals.
  4. To study, develop, and seek to implement legislation beneficial to member districts or to modify legislation already drafted.
  5. To establish effective lines of communication with legislators generally, but specifically those representing member districts.
  6. To develop an effective working relationship with the State Board of Education, the Governor and the Governor's office and education liasion, statewide and regional associations and advocacy groups, and all other organizations or persons with whom ED-RED can work to accomplish mutual objectives.
  7. To actively involve ED-RED members in the legislative process.
  8. To communicate with the media about public education issues.
